Zooey Deschanel Guest Stars on Bones
Tonight (December 10, 2009) Bones will air a brand new episode: Season 5, Episode 10, The Goop on the Girl. This is their Christmas episode, following the case of a Santa Claus who blew himself up during a failed bank robbery. Our favorite oddball couple follows the case, trying to identify the bomber and determine his reasons. Brennan wants to go to El Salvador for Christmas, but her father (Ryan O’Neal) makes her stay with him for the holidays.
This episode has something we’ve never seen before on Bones: Star Emily Deschanel (the actress who plays Temperance Brennan) is going to have her sister Zooey Deschanel guest star as a distant relative with her father for the holidays. She plays Margaret Whitesell.
Zooey Deschanel’s recent movies are Yes, Man, Live Free or Die Hard, Failure to Launch, and The Happening. With her large blue eyes, black hair and flashy red lipstick, the actress resembles a more 40s version Katy Perry. She usually plays the weird character in movies, like the supporting best friend to the main star. We’ve seen her as a sexaholic, semi-whorish best friend, to the sweet young cafe barista.
Who knows what the writers of Bones plan for her: we can only guess as to how this episode will portray Zooey Deschanel. Will Dr. Brennan make a connection with another person besides Booth finally?
